Overview
Our client is undergoing a significant period of growth. Working in the Product Development department, the Development Solutions Architect (DSA) shall possess exceptional technical skills, providing technical governance and guidance to the architect, development and the management teams. Working at the solution level, the DSA will have accountability and responsibility for end to end solutions, collaborating with senior management, product management and the development architects.
A self starter, the successful candidate will be well organized, operating with minimal supervision whilst enthusing and motivating colleagues and peers with their energy and drive. They will also be hands on, and work in an open, inclusive and collaborative manner.
The Development Solutions Architect shall:
- Possess a strong technical background, ideally having hands on experience with large scale distributed solutions.
- Own qualifications to degree level, or appropriate equivalent industry experience and professional membership(s).
- Obtain and maintain good understanding of the functional domain of the full product range.
- Learn and understand the cross overs synergies and unique aspects of the full product range both at a functional and architectural level.
- Achieve a broad understanding of deployment aspects of the system, including networking, data provisioning and data migration.
- Achieve a solid appreciation of the context in which the systems are deployed and the interfaces which are required to co-exist within the customers ecosystem.
- Represent and sell the technical capabilities of the company directly to customers and partner organisations.
- Represent and sell the capabilities and competence of the development department to other parts of the company e.g. projects/sales/support/group etc.
- Advise Product Owners and Product Managers on roadmap development
- Provide architectural guidance and software estimates input into bids.
- Possess the ability to calmly and analytically resolve novel and complex issues, taking into account practical constraints such as time, budget, technical capacity and the personal traits and motivations of the main stakeholders.
- Have the ability to direct and motive people through the clarity of well thought out arguments and persuasion rather than forceful imperatives.
- Demonstrate excellent judgement and also possess the ability to share this judgement.
- Mentor, guide and grow team members in a truly nurturing way by passing on your own experiences and knowledge to help others.
- Be a genuine team player, putting the team’s goals and the needs of others first.
- Be enthusiastic about software architecture and development and its ever changing landscape. Keeping up to date with new ideas and open minded to new ideas that challenge old familiar approaches.
- Bring new development techniques and technologies to the project/team where appropriate.
- Provide a level of consultancy across a broad scope of technology to all levels within the business regardless of site and location.
- Support the technical recruitment process to grow and develop the team.
- Support analysts and test analysts with technical input when required when appropriate.
- Work with the team to provide effort estimates for new features to be developed when appropriate
