Role
Reporting to the Director of Next Generation Design, the Enterprise Architect will provide strategic technology direction, leadership, and vision to define and implement the Next Generation Technology Platform for their domain specialism.
Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Ten or more years of experience in an IOT or Telecommunications Technology
- Excellent communication (verbal and writing), influencing and negotiation skills.
- Experience in articulating the business drives and architectural approach/trade-offs during discussions for solution buy-in at various levels and gain consensus.
- Ability to break down complex topics into simple to digest information and data points, adjusted to audiences at various levels.
- Ability to create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
- Preferably experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts.
- Ability to instill confidence in the Executive Board
- TOGAF or similar certification.
- Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
- Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning and execution skills
- Experience with technology principles in multiple domains (e.g wireless networks, Edge computing, Infrastructure, Data & Integration, Security). Successful recent experience in technology engineering/architecture in large IOT network deployments, SME knowledge in one or multiple DCC domains.
- Experience or deep desire to develop technical skills in one or more of the following:
- High volume low-latency service invocation, both synchronous and asynchronous invocation patterns
- Docker Container Orchestration with Kubernetes (e.g. AWS)
- Configuration management (e.g. Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)
- Cloud orchestration (e.g. Cloud Formation, Terraform, Scalr, BOSH, etc,)
- Cloud Security technology and best practices using AWS Security Groups, IAM/S3 Policy, Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- Authentication and Authorization technologies (e.g. LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory)
- Authentication and Authorization protocols (e.g. OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML)
- Design / Development skills in cloud native applications, using various technologies (e.g. Spring Boot, Java, NodeJs, Ruby, GO, .Net), utilizing microservices design
- Experience with application build automation tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins, Concourse, and Git supporting continuous integration / continuous deployment capabilities (CI / CD)
- Agile / Scrum methodology
