Location : Manchester Airport - Limited travel may be required to other offices, within London and Reading.
Salary : £33.7k
Plus up to 10% discretionary bonus.

Position : Enterprise Test Analyst - ETL testing
Role and Requirements
The role is primarily for BI-MI and as such a strong background in testing SQL Server Data Warehousing is required.
The testing role is embedded within the Smart Metring Implementation Programme and as such any experience within this area of the utility sector would be of great advantage.
Key responsibilities
- Technical Testing of Cognos BIMI solution needs a thorough and detailed understanding of the following:
- ETL packages
- SQL and xml
- Microsoft SQL server management studio
- Database schemas, dimensions and facts
- Batch files/jobs
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
- Cubes and related measures and dimensions
- Cognos Reporting
- Use Jira, Zephyr, HP ALM, spreadsheets and SharePoint for test activities
- Adhere to scope of testing for BI-MI and FTPS/Networks
- Prepare/review test documentation i.e. test plans, test scenarios, test scripts
- Witnesses and assure 3rd party testing
- Execution of tests as defined and agreed with the Test Manager
- Clearly and concisely capture and document all test execution evidence
- Raise clearly explained defects with detailed analysis and evidence attached
- Prepare and present test closure reports
- Execute regression testing as required
- Attend project and test meetings
Essential Skills
- Ability to read, write and modify complex SQL code
- Ability to read, write and modify XML files efficiently
- Experience in testing SQL Views
- Comfortable in using Microsoft SQL server management studio and its features
- In depth understanding of how SSIS and SSAS packages work, their purpose and demonstratable experience in testing them
- Thorough understanding of Database design principles such as database schemas, table schemas, relational databases
- Experienced in testing OLAP systems which includes in depth understanding of cubes, dimensions, facts
- Experience in all aspects of software testing lifecycle
