DV (MoD) preferred. Must be able to hold and maintain DV clearance

Job Responsibilities:

Work will be conducted within an ITIL framework and will be working within an integrated multi-skilled team.

You will need to develop working relationships within the team and the local and central IT community, contributing to the development of an evolving technical environment.

You will have responsibilities for ensuring documentation is maintained by owners and supporting releases with the required operational requirements.

The role will require you to manage the following:

  • Implementation of technical updates on the systems complying with the service requirements and methodology.
  • Work with other members to ensure that environments are available to develop and test projects.
  • Work within the operational framework to provide assistance with operations of the production environments.
  • Ensure environments documented and procedures to facilitate ongoing environment operations.
  • Manage and coordinate the interdependencies between system maintenance / patching
  • Preparing and reviewing the environment strategy which considers risks in relation to stability and resilience
  • Management of system licencing, hardware maintenance, asset management, etc as required across the environment
  • Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new methods to apply to the situation.
  • Refreshing and configuring production-like non-production environments maintaining baseline and assisting with resolving infrastructure related production issues

Skills and Requirements:

Knowledge and experience of the following is essential:

  • Extensive technical knowledge – needs to be intimately familiar with technologies such as Microsoft, VMware and Citrix. They will also need to have experience with storage area networks, firewalls, routers, Databases and more.
  • ITIL qualified and experienced (change management, problem management, etc)
  • Must be able to support technical discussions within the organisation.
  • Management and provisioning of environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
  • Commercially astute and good problem-solving skills
  • 7+ years working in the management of environment infrastructure
  • Experience of managing secure environments and working with SoC
