Field IT Support Engineer - Bristol/West Country

Bristol, Devon, Cornwall

(Must be a driver and be willing to travel frequently in the South West, also must be eligible to undergo SC Clearance)

Our client a major UK business service and IT service provider are seeking a Field IT Support Engineer to work within the West Country Region - car will be provided.

What you’ll be doing:

  • To provide first line service support for a range of communications equipment currently deployed within the Emergency Services customer base. The equipment is located within Emergency Services control rooms and within Emergency Services vehicles
  • Incident and Problem Management
  • Change and Release Management
  • Configuration Management
  • Internal Staff Liaison
  • Third Party Management
  • The Field Services Engineer shall follow ISO 20000 best practice processes.
  • Self-management responsibility for asset tracking and management - to ensure an adequate supply of spare equipment is maintained within the region.
  • Accurate and effective completion of service related documentation
  • Self-sufficient and able to work on his own initiative, they will be required to be articulate and able to communicate with customers at all levels.
  • On site diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all supported communication systems – hardware/software. Including - Integrated Communication Control Systems (ICCS),Touch Screen PC based Operator Positions, Servers, Switches, Routers and PABX

Desirable skills / Certification /Qualification -

  • IP Networking; Firewalls; Cisco routers and switching
  • Information Security;
  • DS2000
  • PABX (Nortel/Siemens/Panasonic)
  • Network Management
  • DVR (NICE/RedBox)
  • Microsoft product knowledge
  • CCNA; MCSE Certified; MCP Certified; ITIL Certified; Nortel accredited
  • Degree Educated or Equivalent
