IT Application Developer –
The Adult & Children’s Social Care departments are undergoing significant IT change to enable productivity savings and will be migrating to new IT applications in the near future. This has resulted in the requirement to recruit to application developers. The roles will be responsible for developing applications, interfaces and migration scripts using tools such as PL SQL, Dell Boomi, ebase, HTML and reporting tools including XML / XSLT (StyleVision).
Essential Skills
Oracle SQL & PL SQL skills, using tools such as PL SQL Developer or similar.
This should include experience of writing DML, creating database objects (tables, views, functions, packages etc) and reading and understanding Entity Relationship Diagrams.
Experience of developing using a 4GL language / environment.
Be flexible to work across support, administration, analysis, design and development.
Have excellent communication skills and work well within a team and with other technical teams, such as DBA’s and Technical Platforms.
Desirable skills
Any prior exposure or experience of OLM’s (formerly Northgate’s) Swift, ICS or AIS applications.
Any prior exposure or experience of writing Migration scripts using SQL / PL SQL Knowledge or understanding of Dell Boomi.
Some experience of creating web applications using HTML, CSS and some JavaScript.
Experience of SOAP & REST web services.
Experience of developing in ebase 3.4 or 4.5/Xi is highly desirable.
An understanding of XML and JSON Knowledge or experience of writing StyleVision eXtensible Stylesheet language Templates (XSLT)
Knowledge or experience of Oracle Application Server.
Principal Responsibilities
Developing applications, interfaces and migration scripts in any / all of SQL / PL SQL, ebase, XML / XSLT / FOP and Dell Boomi to HCC standards. Configuration, systems administration, testing and support of the authorities Social Care applications, Swift, ICS and AIS. Additional Information
The need to work flexibly including occasional out of hours work as required.
It may be a requirement of the role holder to deal with confidential information and a strict regard for confidentiality is essential.
