Becoming a Senior Developer with Capita Secure Software and Technology:
The vacancy is positioned in the Capita Secure Solutions and Services (hereafter referred to as Capita SSS) business unit. There are development teams based in three locations. We work with a wide range of emergency service providers – ambulance trusts, fire and rescue services and police forces – supplying a range of mission-critical solutions and support services in many global locations.
What you will do:
Be responsible for the design and implementation of features in line with the functional and non-functional requirements.
Contribute towards software design and adherence to best practises in development, coding standards and unit testing.
Demonstrate good judgement and also possess the ability to share this judgement with junior members of the team.
Assist in the mentoring and guidance of junior team members in a truly nurturing way.
Be a genuine team player.
Be enthusiastic about software development and its ever changing landscape. Keep up to date with new ideas and open minded to new ideas that challenge old familiar approaches.
Be involved in development, design and architectural reviews as both reviewer and reviewee.
Be fully active in all SCRUM ceremonies; analysing the backlog in grooming sessions, assisting in spring planning, feature and product backlog item kick off discussions. Ensuring functionality is fully understand prior to development.
Your experience will include:
Possess skills in two or more of:
- Typescript and/or JavaScript ES6
- Building modern, well structured SPAs
- SCSS, CSS 3, HTML 5
- C# in a technical OO environment
- Good experience of a modern JS framework such as ReactJS, Angular 2.0+
- Experience of building RESTful web applications with asp.net
- Have experience in Unit Testing
- Have experience using GIT, VSTS/Jira
