Application Packager – DV Cleared

Pay rate : £60ph Inside IR35

Duration : 18 months

Clearance : DV Cleared. NSC04/DV London or West (GCB, GCHQ or GCPD) NO OTHER CLEARANCES WILL BE CONSIDERED

As a member of the Desktop Service Technical Specialist Team, you will be responsible for all the applications that are packaged for the systems being supported. This will include the review and inclusion of packages provided by other organisations as well as packaging COTS and bespoke applications. You will partake in application packaging reviews with other organisations to ensure consistency of approach across all packaging teams as well as owning your packaged application from initial requirements through to oversight of testing, implementation, and ongoing lifecycle management

• Excellent knowledge of application packaging for Windows 10 with specific experience and responsibility for:

• The full application life cycle from requirements capture through software acquisition, packaging, unit testing, integration testing, implementation into ongoing support following agreed standard
• Documenting the application packaging recipe, unit tests and the requirements for integration to MECM for application deployment
• ensuring an adequate software packaging environment is available raising service requests and chasing others to ensure it remains functional and fit for purpose
• Assisting with 3rd Line Technical Support to the Customer Systems and managing incidents to determine root cause and the required resolutions

• Desirable Technical Experience of the following:

• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for application management and deployment
• Experience with Application Virtualisation
• Knowledge of Troubleshooting using SysInternals tools such as ProcMon and NetMon
• Familiar with patching methods including WSUS
• Active Directory and Group Policy
• Windows 11
