Professional Services is the consulting arm of OpenText and supports customers through the installation, configuration, integration, and support of OpenText products. We deliver solutions to some of the top brand names worldwide and to various government departments in high security areas.

OpenText is undertaking a range of client projects to help drive efficiencies and provide improved IT services, particularly in Service Management and other ITIL functions.

2 Role Details Overview

OpenText require a disciplined and skilled Configuration Manager with solid experience in developing and managing policies and procedures. The successful candidate will operate as part of a small team, working in close conjunction with other teams both within the customer organisation and within the larger OpenText organisation.

Responsibilities

• Developing Configuration Management (CM) policies and procedures.

• Managing day-to-day configuration activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments.

• Tracking compliance to policies and procedures and escalating where required.

• Facilitating CM audits.

• Review critical incident outage resolution results and responses of failed changes due to CM related issues.

• Facilitates communication and engages business and IT management to encourage config management efforts and value proposition.

• Reviews and approves all changes to the CMS infrastructure where applicable.

• Reviews and approves configuration management reporting.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of key operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to configuration management.

• Understand Agile (preferably Scaled Agile) frameworks, methods, and techniques as well as traditional waterfall methods.

Desirable Skills

• Able to demonstrate excellent team-working skills.

• Collaborative, adaptive, communicator, able to establish and grow relationships during customer engagements..

• Able to demonstrate stakeholder empathy, liaison & management skills.

• Be a self-starter, that can both self-motivate and take the initiative.

• Experience of working with personnel in a cross-agency environment is highly desired.

Location

As required by the role, will include travel to customer, 3rd party and/or OpenText sites, and other as necessary. Flexibility in working from home is permitted if the work allows. Travel outside of the UK Mainland is not required.

Hours

37.5 hours per week, however projects have pre-determined deadlines and candidate should be prepared to work the hours necessary to achieve agreed deliverables.
