• Content Designer experience
• User mapping
• User journey
• Previous experience of working on Gov.uk – desirable

Min VA has set the OVA two priorities that require specialist input from a content designer. The first, is in support of Veteran ID cards, where the user journey needs to be mapped out and then simplified as part of the online application process. The second, is improving and rationalising the veteran information / gateways / signposting on Gov.uk as part of general improvements and to support the Ministers work on cost of living for veterans’.

The Veteran ID card project met the service assessment standard in October. There is ambition to deliver this new service to veterans in 2023. The project is now progressing to Beta, with support and strong interest from both Min VA and the Defence Secretary. For the project to succeed a well planned user journey experience is required. This work will support that. This is a key priority for Min VA, recent press statements confirm this - example here. This requirement will also support our work on improving Veteran community access to cost of living help.

Objectives:

1) Review Veterans content across GOV.UK, working with MOD / OVA

2) Develop associated guidance of the benefits veterans are entitled to, and how veterans can find information more easily

3) Establish and develop a user journey for all veterans services, including the apply for a veteran’s card when it launches in Summer 2023

4) Rationalise and improve veteran pages and content on GOV.UK

5) Develop a hand-over process and route to content maintenance by OVA The outcomes are happier and more engaged veterans, quicker access and easier navigation to relevant pages and information.
