Pay rate : €35.61 hour (8 hour days/40 hour week)

Duration : 15/07/2024 to 30/04/2025 (approx. 9 months)

We are currently recruiting for a Credit Analyst to be primarily responsible for the review and approval of underwriting and credit structuring of facilities, which will be proposed by the first line credit team. This will include an evaluation and review of proposals considering the analysis of factors that affect an entity’s ability to repay and/or service their obligations on time; the identification and assessment of all strengths, weaknesses and risks (including credit risk, market risk) associated with the opportunity; as well as identifying and describing mitigating factors. You will use your skill set to assess the appropriateness of the proposed transaction, provide independent challenge and propose, where appropriate, optimal alternatives or additional financing solutions. The complexity of the entities and transactions requiring analysis can vary over a wide spectrum of different customer types and industries.

You will also be responsible for credit monitoring of an existing portfolio of clients and transactions including ensuring the timely preparation of periodic status reviews and annual program renewals to be performed by the first line credit function.

You will work closely with the operations, compliance and legal teams, as well as with colleagues in credit and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Daily review of credit proposals to ensure adherence to credit risk appetite and credit risk management framework requirements
  • Use high quality and robust business data to support credit risk reporting and monitoring of the nature and performance the portfolio
  • Review and develop effective Credit Risk Management policies and procedures
  • Work with Risk and Compliance function to ensure effective stress testing and quality assurance processes are in place, compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Understand technology and its application to the business, working to implement improvements and support underwriting change management projects
  • Work with management teams to identify and implement operational enhancements when required
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to the underwriting / credit teams
  • Support audits, external reviews or regulatory inspections and queries as they arise
  • Maintain and develop own skills, knowledge and behaviours whilst maintaining awareness of industry and regulatory standards and changes

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five years proven experience in a senior credit risk management / underwriting role ,
  • Dynamic, technically strong with ability to operate at operational and strategic levels
  • Integrity, openness and commitment to good governance
  • Knowledge of Asset Finance products and processes desirable
  • Ability to make credit decisions based on data, experience and the macro environment and to balance risk management with commercial realities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legal matters relating to financial services
  • Conversant with credit regulations, ability to review, interpret and apply regulatory guidelines and familiar with performing gap analyses on new regulations and building action plans to deploy changes within required implementation timelines
