Data Engineering Solutions Lead

We are currently recruiting for a Data Engineering Solutions Lead to take technical ownership of the cloud-based Azure Data Services and associated technologies that constitute the Data Platform. You will be the senior technical expert on aspects of Data Management, Data Engineering and Business Intelligence across the range of Azure platform solutions.

Aa a strong technical leader, you will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to design and deliver requirements within the data platform solution and instruct engineers in the creation of new data pipelines. The role compliments the BI and Analytics roadmap of the Product Owner, to align business needs to technical delivery using agile ways of working and product leadership.

This role bolsters technical Azure data expertise in support of enterprise solutions and data architecture functions.

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience of data architecture and managing data solutions from ingestion to exploitation
• Deep knowledge of the Azure Data Platform services and their application across the Target Operating Model
• Deep understanding of business target operating models and workflows, together with design principles, IT and data architectures and solution modelling.
• Expert in designing, building and maintaining data pipelines
• Extensive Azure experience (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Databricks, Synpase , PBI, etc)
• An understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps
• Competency in ADO and supporting the development against a backlog
• Excellent SQL and Python programming skills.
• Extensive experience in data modelling, data warehouse design and data lake concepts and practices. Communicate clearly and simply with internal and external stakeholders
• Convey complex technical information into clear, concise, and coherent messages in business terms and express and deliver the design to technical teams for delivery
• Influence and seek consensus for the data solution and design with stakeholders
• Work with the analytical leads and heads of department to demo engineered data following a continuous improvement approach and increase adoption of the platform across Problem Solving
• Solve complex business requirements, IT and data management problems, propose new solutions and architect the azure data pipelines including integration, data management, Business Intelligence and data science solutions
• Work with the solutions architect to support the wider solutions architecture, roadmaps and blue prints with corporate standards and efforts to develop solutions roadmap of all projects
• Periodically review the selection of new software components to meet current and future business needs
• Link between the solutions architect, data architect, Product Owner and data platform delivery ensuring solutions for all projects are in line with our principals
