Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Data Platform Support Lead to act as the day-to-day manager for the platform itself ensuring that applications are working correctly, the data engineering team can work efficiently through the development cycle and the team provides an optimal service to its user base.

The role will work closely with IT functions to monitor the running of the platform and put in place the new ways of working to run an efficient and effective data service in line with aspirations for data engineering. You will work across the directorate to create, document, and maintain new processes and ways of working to manage the data platform service.

This is a technical role with breadth of knowledge across the platform but you will recognise where extra support is required and use Data Engineering or IT expertise as needed to achieve service based outcomes.

This role is expected to interface heavily with IT roles including but not limited to IT Service Delivery Manager, IT service Desk Manager, Environments Manager and Applications Support. The role will also be the conduit to Test team resources and provide hold approaches and best practices specific to the Data Platform

Skills and Experience:

Experience managing solutions and providing a support service to end users

Experience of designing and implementing new processes that deliver high quality service

Deep knowledge of the Azure Data Platform services and their application

Knowledge of the development lifecycle

Knowledge of Dev Ops working

Azure knowledge (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Databricks, Synpase , PBI, etc)

An understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps

Competency in ADO and supporting the development against a backlog

SQL, Python, DAX| programming skills in line with team Skills Matrix

Communicate clearly and simply with stakeholders

Convey complex technical information into clear, concise, and coherent messages between data and IT team

Experience of troubleshooting across the full Data Platform stack

Building frameworks to identify problems and resolve with cross team working against SLA’s

Link between Data Platform and IT service delivery
