Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Solutions Manager; coming from a technical background with demonstrable experience in running teams that support and develop various IT Solutions; including D365, other Microsoft applications and Commercial off the shelf (COTS) systems.

You will:

  • Be accountable for the quality of solutions and performance; ensuring future demand from growth and projects is understood and factored into capacity plans for all associated teams & systems
  • Recruitment, training and development of the IT Solutions Team
  • Be an ambassador for IT, working across the business to provide effective communication on IT matters and build relationships with other teams to ensure effective dialogue between directorates
  • Ensure that the team contribute to DevOps practices by participating in the entire service lifecycle
  • Understand and identify business challenges and develop strategies and solutions to deliver added value to the business
  • Monitor, control and support solution delivery; ensuring systems, methodologies and procedures are in place and followed
  • Ensure the team adhere to the principles of configuration over custom code

Essential and Desirable Criteria

  • Substantial experience delivering Dynamics 365 solutions with detailed knowledge of all Customer Engagement functionality
  • Recent experience in a lead or above position with strong people management skills
  • Deep understanding of best practice for delivering and developing COTS solutions
  • Strong analytical/technical writing skills
  • Strong trouble shooting/problem solving skills
  • Strong team player; ability to facilitate, negotiate and work within a multi-domain team environment

Accountability

  • Responsible for budget, planning and forecasting
  • Recruitment, training and development of the IT Development Team
  • Development, maintenance and adherence to best practices and standards. Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes for delivery of scalable and high-quality software
  • Planning and allocation of resources between projects, Tactical Change and BAU
  • Contribute to project boards and be able to challenge decisions
  • Knowing and understanding the priorities of the business and applying these to decisions
  • Overseeing the adherence to chosen development methodologies and continuous improvement
  • Communicating with the business stakeholders as well as colleagues in Change and IT, building relationships with existing and prospective internal customers to interpret all individual requirements
  • Ensure that the team contribute to DevOps practices by participating in the entire service lifecycle
  • Support the IT Director in developing and delivering the IT Strategy and adherence to budget
  • Identify, report and mitigate risks
  • Manage the use of suppliers and contractors to boost internal resource
