Junior Developer (PERL)

Duration : 6 months, may be extended

Clearance: BPSS

Minimum Requirement:

• To develop, unit test, system test and integration test new or enhanced batch and API interfaces using PERL
• To write and track progress against test scripts.
• To create/update supporting documentation/specifications/test plans
• To assist with User Testing of interfaces & scripts
• Resolve any issues relating to interface testing and data problems

• Experience of development using PERL & scripting languages such as C++/Python, or any other procedural/object orientated language.
• Understand regular expressions
• Experience and knowledge of latest standards in developing APIs and authentication methodologies.
• Experience of Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience and knowledge in Web development standards such as HTML5, CSS, JQuery/Javascript and an understanding of markup languages such as XML/JSON/YAML
• Experience in Unix system management, data structures and security procedures
• Experience in an Agile or DevOps working environment

• Understanding and appreciation of standard IT development and testing strategies.
• Must be particularly well organised in order to cope with the concurrent development of multiple code lines within overall project timescales.
• Good written and excellent verbal communication skills, ability to influence users.
• Implementation of software
