Power Bi Developer – SC Cleared

This is a requirement for an MS Power BI Developer as temporary cover whilst recruiting to backfill a leaver.

The candidate will be experienced in designing and developing dashboards and reports in MS Power BI, ideally with a background in Defence Logistics. They will be data curious (will question the picture presented by data and dig further if it doesn't look right) and will appreciate that Management Information needs to convey a message (it's not simply numbers, often it’s to influence a user to act or behave in a certain way). They will have experience of working in Agile projects and ideally will be familiar with Jira.

The candidate will join an established team and will be tasked with developing, modifying or testing MS Power BI reports in the topics of inventory, the supply chain and Engineering support. Generally, the candidate will be partially guided in their work by a member of staff leading a workstream. On occasion the candidate may be tasked with directly interacting with stakeholders to take a development from requirements capture to delivery. They will need to be able to work without supervision, taking responsibility for ensuring they understand the task, checking in regularly to ensure they are on track and using their own initiative when faced with problems.

The candidate will normally work remotely but may be required to visit the MOD Abbey Wood office for a full day once a month. They will need to participate in daily morning 'stand-up' calls where they will share with staff team members their progress and plans for that day.
