Provide technical leadership and direction in the implementation of web-based enterprise applications based predominantly on the Microsoft technology stack, utilising industry best practices such as TDD, BDD, or pair programming to ensure high quality products are developed within agreed timescales.

Key Areas:

  • Mentorship, including but not limited to training on design patterns, guided walkthrough of code base areas, critical review of code changes, etc.;
  • Design and development of enterprise web-based applications utilising the appropriate technology, predominately C# .Net, .Net Core, WCF, XAML and Javascript, but also including SQL, SSRS, Silverlight, Dynamics CRM;
  • Ensure your own and your team’s development is completed within agreed timescales;
  • Collective responsibility of CCRS ASD code base;
  • Actively participate in development ceremonies; planning, estimation, design, retrospectives, and reviews;
  • Work within the development governance framework including, but not limited to, adherence to Coding Guidelines, UI guides, automated testing, and code reviews;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the both the products and processes used to drive improved quality or efficiency;
  • Ensure development skills are kept up to date and maintain awareness of new developments in the software industry

Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of developing enterprise web based applications;
  • Strong working knowledge of technologies used with the project – C#, XAML, WCF, HTML 5, Javascript frameworks e.g React, Angular JS
  • In depth understanding of writing testable software – unit test, integration tests, TDD, BDD etc.;
  • Good working knowledge of version control methods and software such as Team Foundation Server;
  • Knowledge of design patterns (such as MVVM), MEF, Reactive Extensions and Windows Workflow;

Skills:

  • Strong analysis, design and development skills and experience;
  • Extensive experience of commercial software development environments;
  • Experience of working on or leading user interface migration
  • Strong client relationship and commercialisation skills;
  • Data modelling using appropriate tools;
  • Experience of producing design artefacts and relating ideas / information to other team members and non-technical people;
  • Experience of writing and implementing test suites;
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential.
