Position: Software Engineer - Python Developer
A Software Engineer - Python Developer is required to join our client.
The role will be an application developer tasked to deliver tools and applications supporting trading and operations for the Power Desk within Shell Energy Europe. Ideally suited to someone who can work in a fast paced environment and solve complex business problems. It will involve developing tools directly on top of and within an Azure cloud platform utilising native Azure technologies while working within a Scrum and Kanban environment. Working as part of a DevOps team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, releasing and supporting small applications and data handling tools end-to-end.
Essential Experience & Skills
Python eg Packages: Numpy, SciPy, Sickt-Learn or Keras or Tensorflow
Power Trading/Commodities Experience
Statistical background eg Masters or PhD in STEM Subjects, (Financial Engineering preferable)
Experience in working with low granularity time series data
Experience in working with Data Engineers to get the most out of ETL processes
Experience with Azure (Blobstorage, Cosmo DB)
Dedicated to Agile best practices - (shared understanding, enough documentation, focus)
Familiarity with storage quality practices - (Gold/Silver/Bronze)
Desirable skills:
Experience working in a Front Office Trading domain
