Job description

Duration : 12 months, with potential extensions

Clearance : DV Clearance preferred. May take Security Check cleared candidates willing to go through DV

This role is an expert level role to provide technical support services within a secure government environment

Technical skills

  • Experienced in Investigating, diagnosing and remediating complex technical issues
  • Good communicator who can work with stakeholders at all levels to understand business impacts
  • Able to present complex information both clearly and professionally, to different audiences.
  • Supporting, guiding and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Development, testing and deployment of automated scripts.
  • Maintaining and updating integrations with connected 3rd party systems.
  • Good documentation skills to produce review and maintain technical documents
  • Planning and implementing system upgrades and new interfaces.
  • Participation in and support of testing activities including Performance and Security Vulnerability testing
  • Communicating with Micro Focus Support and Product Development teams.
  • Identifying, planning and implementing improvements in accordance with the customers Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) process.
  • Experienced in working in secure government customers with an understanding of their governance and policies.
  • Experience of working with personnel in a cross-agency environment is highly desirable. Must be able to obtain the relevant level clearance and maintain it

Experience and Knowledge of one or more of the following capabilities

  • Service Automation and Robotic Process Automation

o Extensive experience of Automation technologies and how they operate.

o Design and development of technical solutions to automate customer activities.

o Implementation and support for automated workflows and integrations.

o Experience of working with Micro Focus Operations Orchestration or Robotic Process Automation is an advantage but skills in other automation solutions and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

  • Operations Event Management and Monitoring

o Extensive experience of Event Monitoring capabilities and how they operate.

o Event policy definition and operational event management to provide system, application and database monitoring.

o Experience of working with Micro Focus Operations Bridge Manager or SiteScope and knowledge of scripting custom solutions is an advantage but skills in other monitoring solutions and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

  • Service Management, Asset Management and Configuration Management

o Micro Focus has developed integrated Service Management Solutions on a new OPTIC platform which will support the new generation of Service Management and Asset Management interfacing with Event Management and UCMDB solutions.

o Experience of working with Micro Focus SMAX ideal but expertise in Service Manager, Asset Manager or UCMDB is an advantage in adapting to the new platform and associated applications.

o Experience of working with other Service Management solutions and a willingness to learn the new platform technology will also be considered.
